Our café and its working roastery has been the heart of Skybury Farms since its inspirational, architect-designed building opened in 2006. Swing on in (literally – we have stunning timber swings to chill in while you take in the views!) and order up your paddock-to-plate experience from our delicious seasonal menu.

Try papaya in our signature dishes, savour freshly roasted Australian grown coffee, taste our Skybury liqueurs created from coffee and papaya, jump in the troopie to take a tour of our farm and sip a cocktail as you take in the majestic rural views. And…we do takeaway! That’s right, you can buy all our gorgeous farm produce and value-add products right here and take them home with you. Paddock to Plate

When you visit our café and coffee roastery, you enter the source of deliciousness! We grow exceptional Bourbon Arabica coffee – and sweet red Carica papaya – so prepare for a farm-to-table experience that will set your taste buds dancing. And, with our abundant produce that isn’t pretty enough for Australia’s supermarkets, we make a mighty range of value add goodies including espresso BBQ sauce, home-made preserves, vodka and….skincare. We are three generations of farmers, farming here since 1987.

Skybury Coffee

We love being coffee farmers. We grow, roast and grind our single origin coffee right here in the highlands behind Cairns where the climate and soils create the perfect conditions for our variety; Bourbon Arabica.

Our café coffee menu is extensive, and our in-house baristas are creative! Buy Skybury coffee directly from our café, or we will post your coffee home. We roast to post, which means very fresh coffee, always. Whole beans or ground to your particular requirements; the choice is yours.

Skybury Papaya

If you’re new to this amazing superfood, try it now! We grow miles of sweet red Carica papaya and supply more than half of all the papaya fruit sold at supermarkets in Australia. Our founders, Ian and Marion MacLaughlin, emigrated from Zimbabwe and created Skybury Farms in the late 1980s. Today, our family’s vision is still to be at the forefront of farming innovation, striving for excellence, balancing agricultural output with sustainable farming to produce the highest quality coffee and tropical fruit in Australia.
